Safety Approved Lights
Lighting products are considered potential ignition sources when used in hazardous locations. Non-safety approved flashlights can give off a spark or heat to unsafe temperatures that can ignite flammable gases or flying flammable debris. Oil refineries, textile miles and grain silos are examples of environments where safety approved lighting products are a must. Products must pass a battery of rigorous tests conducted by safety agencies before getting a stamp of approval – which can include receiving a UL, IECEX or SGS approval. The below Pelican™ lighting tools have been tested to be intrinsically safe or “explosion-proof” in Class I, II, or III environments.
